If your fantasy is to be a Canadian Mountie mushing across the frozen Yukon, save the airfare and head to the mountains of Colorado instead. Dogsled rides are offered at several ski resorts, but we like Aspen best, where dog-power takes you far from the crowds into the rugged backcountry; some rides end with a fancy dinner. Incidentally, those movies you've seen are wrong: The dogs almost never bark while running, just before and after.
